Frequently Asked Questions

PRODUCT & MATTRESS INFORMATION

Q: What makes a Grace & Comfort mattress different?

A: Our mattresses are American-made and faith-inspired—designed for deep rest and meaningful mornings. Crafted with high-quality materials and rooted in biblical values, each mattress reflects our commitment to comfort and purpose.

Q: Are your mattresses made in the USA?

A: Yes. All Grace & Comfort mattresses are proudly made in the USA, using locally sourced materials and expert craftsmanship.

Q: What types of mattresses do you offer?

A: We offer memory foam, hybrid, and luxury innerspring mattresses. Each model is engineered to meet different sleep needs—whether you prefer contouring comfort or added support.

Q: What’s the difference between a hybrid and a memory foam mattress?

A: Memory foam mattresses feature multiple layers of contouring foam for pressure relief and full-body comfort.
Hybrid mattresses include those same foam layers plus individually-wrapped coils for added support, breathability, and motion isolation—ideal for couples or those wanting extra structure.

Q: How long does it take for a Grace & Comfort mattress to fully expand?

A: Our mattresses are sleep-ready within a few hours of unboxing, but please allow up to 72 hours for full expansion and comfort.
Note: Expansion time can be influenced by room temperature, airflow, and humidity.

Q: Are your mattresses CertiPUR-US® certified?

A: Yes. All our mattresses are CertiPUR-US® certified and made without harmful chemicals, heavy metals, or ozone depleters.

Q: Can I flip my Grace & Comfort mattress?

A: No. Our mattresses are designed to be used on one side only. For optimal performance, we recommend rotating it 180° every few months.

Q: What is a mattress-in-a-box?

A: A mattress-in-a-box is a premium mattress compressed, rolled, and packaged into a compact box for convenient delivery. Once unboxed, it expands to full size within
minutes and reaches complete comfort within 24–72 hours.

Q: Is the quality the same as a showroom mattress?

A: Absolutely. Our mattresses use high‑grade foams, coils, and fabrics. Compression does not damage the mattress — it simply makes shipping easier.

Q: Is there a smell when I open the box?

A: A light “new mattress” scent is normal and harmless. It typically fades within a few
hours. All Grace & Comfort foams are CertiPUR-US® certified.

Q: How long can the mattress stay in the box?

A: For best results, we recommend unboxing within 30 days. The mattress can stay compressed for up to 2–3 months.

Q: Do I need a foundation or box spring?

A: Our mattresses work with any supportive base including platforms, slats, adjustable bases, or foundations.

Q: Will the mattress feel firm at first?

A: Slight firmness during the first 24–48 hours is normal as the foams breathe and expand.

Q: What if the mattress doesn’t expand fully?

A: If areas appear uneven after 72 hours, gently walk on or massage the surface. If
concerns remain, contact our support team

Q: Can I sleep on it the same night?

A: Yes. Comfort improves further as the mattress settles.

Q: Why does Grace & Comfort sell only medium comfort mattresses?

A: Medium comfort is the most universally preferred feel. Over 70% of U.S. mattress
buyers prefer medium or medium‑firm. Medium works for all sleep positions, reduces return risk, and aligns with top‑selling models from major brands.

Q: What does medium feel mean?

A: A medium feel mattress balances cushioning and support to relieve pressure while maintaining proper spinal alignment. It is ideal for back, side, and combination sleepers.

Q: Why do we only offer a medium feel?

A: We’ve done the research for you. Industry data and sleep science consistently show medium feel provides the most universal comfort across body types and sleep positions.

Q: Why not multiple firmness options?

A: We believe quality is better than quantity. By perfecting one proven comfort level, we ensure consistent performance, durability, and comfort.

A certification that ensures products meet very strict limits for chemical emissions, helping keep indoor air cleaner.

What does GREENGUARD Gold mean for my mattress? It’s certified for low VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions to support healthier indoor air quality—especially helpful for kids, sensitive sleepers, and families.

How is it different from standard GREENGUARD? Gold has tighter emission limits, suitable for sensitive environments like schools and healthcare.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100

A globally recognized label proving every textile component (fabric, thread, zipper, label) has been tested for harmful substances.

What does it test for? Toxic dyes, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and hundreds of other harmful chemicals.

Is it safe for skin contact? Yes—Standard 100 specifically ensures textiles are safe to
touch, even for babies.

CertiPUR-US®

A certification for polyurethane foam used in mattresses and upholstered furniture.

What’s excluded under CertiPUR-US®? No ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants,
mercury, lead, formaldehyde, or phthalates.

Does it address air quality? Yes—it requires low VOC emissions from the foam.

Does it certify the whole mattress? No—only the foam components are certified.

ECO Institut

An independent German lab that tests products for pollutants and emissions with very stringent, science-based methods.

What substances are checked? VOCs, heavy metals, pesticides, and other harmful compounds.

How is it different from others? It’s a lab-based seal (not a trade association) known for tough thresholds and comprehensive testing.

Why use REPREVE® in bedding? It delivers durability, comfort, and moisture management while upcycling plastic bottles.
